Three years ago on this day (March 31st), we landed in Chicago with our youngest daughter. What was supposed to be around a 10-month process, stretched out as corrupt leaders grasped for power in the Congolese government. We had left for Africa on a one-way ticket, not knowing when we’d be able to return with our daughter…but believing it would finally happen.

After four years of prayer and trusting God with the unknowns, the moment we’d waited for had finally arrived.

Today we pause and are thankful. We will eat some fried chicken, drink some Fanta, and hug each other.  As we continue to put future years in God’s hands, we may be unsure of some things, but we are surely in His hands – together.  We share this video as a reminder to ourselves, but also to all who traveled & travel these roads with us – we are blessed that you are a part of our “together” as well.

We are thankful. 🙂
