We finished up a great week at VBS at our home church, Decatur Moundford FMC! The
kids and leaders chose our family as their “Missions Fundraiser” this year, and together raised more than enough for everyone in our family to pay for our VISA’s to travel to Hungary when we go!! We’re so thankful for an amazing church family, and it was a blessing to have so many moments together with both kids and leaders. It was great this past week to sit with both kids and grown-ups and share the exciting stories of how God called us, and what exactly we look forward to doing in Hungary!
I (Wick) had a blast being the puppet this year. I’ve usually been the goofy guy on stage talking to the puppet. We know not everyone was able to be at VBS this past week, and so we’re scheduled to have a “combined Sunday School” with anyone who’d want to attend on Sunday, August 26th. There we will share a bit more of our stories, as well as talk about what we’ll be doing in Hungary – and offer time for questions and answers. Many people are familiar with missionaries visiting who have served for a while. It’s not very often you get to talk with a family transitioning into the mission-field for the very first time!
The kids were excited to learn about the Hungarian alphabet, and talk about the different cultural aspects. Leaders were curious to simply learn more about what the church life and ministry work will look like. We’re so thankful for the work our VBS leaders put into helping the kids to pray for us and for Hungary this past
ps. Our very first “official newsletter” went out via e-mail this past week! If you’re a pastor/church, we’d love for you to print copies for anyone not connected online! If you’re an individual and didn’t receive it, sign up today by sending us a message!!
